Have yourself a very merry Christmas!
On Christmas day Labyrinth likes to indulge you with a flavoursome soul food dinner, the kind that mama used to make. But this time it’s Miss Haviland who’s going to prepare you this luxurious 4-course dinner, because we prefer to give mama a break. And mixologist Sam, one of the best in Amsterdam will make you exquisite Christmas Cocktails, the kind that you most likely have not tasted before.
But this white elephant part?? You don’t have to dress up as a white elephant or wear your ugly Christmas sweater.
You bring a little ‘white elephant’ meaning a possession that is useless or troublesome, especially one that is expensive to maintain or difficult to dispose of… wrapped in paper to put under Labyrinth’s Christmas tree. And have fun with the other guests who will get this present from you. And know as well that the white elephant is inviting good luck and dispel bad fortune. Is not that a great way to celebrate X-mas?

*The term white elephant refers to an extravagant, but impractical, gift that cannot be easily disposed of. The phrase is said to come from the historic practice of the King of Siam (now Thailand) giving rare albino elephants to courtiers who had displeased him, so that they might be ruined by the animals’ upkeep costs.
The goal of a ‘white elephant gift exchange is to entertain party-goers by bringing a gift that you want to get rid off, rather than to gain a genuinely valuable or highly sought-after item.
Labyrinth will serve you a delicious 4-course Christmas menu with a Caribbean twist accompanied with a special created Xmas cocktail made by mixologist Sam Kingue Ebelle.
