Walk in My Words

Many may have heard of the popular notion: before you judge someone, walk in a mile in their shoes. Research has shown that perspective taking can lead to an increase in empathy and understanding. But how do we do it? How do we walk a mile in someone’s shoes? How do we gain someone else’s perspective?

Walk In My Words attempts to break the walls between artists, and create new connections by having local artists perform each other’s work. In doing so, the artists will have to use their empathy, understanding, and imagination to interpret someone else their words, intentions, meaning, and bring it to life by performing it in a way that is fitting. But here’s the kicker, the local artists will only find out on the evening itself whose words they have been covering.

Get ready for a night where poems are turned into songs, songs into stories, and perhaps some poems or songs into dance interpretations!
