Haunted : Stories of the uncanny, supernatural and horror

Haunted people, lovers, families, lands, the Horror genre goes beyond literal ghosts and monsters as they are metaphors of our repressed emotions, collective anxieties, and hopes. Fiction, art and spirituality allow the exiled parts of ourselves to live in a different world, where it is safer to explore those parts of our psyche.

The Horror genre can be dystopian, political, erotic, folk, lyrical, religious, this fascination has a long history and it is still very much present in contemporary pop culture.

We wish to explore it through a queer, BIPOC and female lens. Who gets to define monsters as such? Why are we taught to fear these entities? What draws us or repulses us about the supernatural? What haunts you, your family, your country? Can Horror be a tool for empowerment? How can we transmute and work with our fears? We invite you on this poetry night to a journey where we will explore our fears and fantasies, a journey where stories are the ultimate magic and exorcism we need.

Throughout the night you can enjoy handcrafted (alcoholfree) cocktails, or other drinks and African Caribbean dishes.

Practicalities/FAQ Enter Labyrinth 6:00-7:00PM ( first come first choice, to get best seats (not all directly face the stage) . Artists are supported through the ticket sales. The evening will be hosted in English, other languages might be used.
