Labyrinth has for many years been the leading open mic for poetry and spoken word. To this day, it is the only weekly open mic for wordsmiths in all of The Netherlands. Since opening its doors 7 years ago, it has become a community for many beginning artists, seasoned veterans, regulars, and visitors to Amsterdam. While enjoying a cocktail and delicious Jamaican food, you can as well be part of the weekly open mic or one of the many curated spoken word events.

Poetry Circle is the leading platform to learn more about the beautiful art of spoken word. Poetry Circle offers an intense rich 6-month workshop season in 7 cities across The Netherlands for beginning artists, experienced performers, and lovers of spoken word. Throughout the year they also organise many events where you can immerse yourself into the beauty and power of words, through spoken word events, single workshops, festivals and more.

This event will be the first crossover between Labyrinth and Poetry Circle where a few Labyrinth regulars and current Circle participants will feature, including space for an open mic as well. So get your ticket, enjoy an evening full of delicious soul food, cocktails, and food for the soul. And perhaps you might grace the open mic?

Practicalities:

Get your ticket here via Labyrinth’s booking system for 5,00 euro’s a person. Full= full. The ticket includes the performances, but does not cover drinks or food. They can be ordered throughout the event night. Reggae Rita’s Jamaican cuisine closes around 9 pm. Everybody can enter between 6pm and 7pm, so we can have a proper service, before the event starts. The earlier you get in, you will receive the preferred seating. As not all tables look directly out to the stage.
