Join us at Labyrinth in Amsterdam for a multilingual Poetry Night on Sunday 23 February, where we explore language and culture in poetry. Six outstanding poets will perform in their different tongues to show you the diversity poetry in The Netherlands has to offer.

In different tongues: does changing your language change you? All of our performers grew up in a multilingual environment and have chosen to work in more than one language. What does that mean for them as a poet and as a person? In such a multilingual city and country, multilingual poetry and literature are inevitable. On this Poetry Night you can hear what six poets who embrace their different tongues have to offer.

You will be welcomed by curator and host Paula Breuning to listen and interact with our guest artists while enjoying delicious soul food and cocktails.

Practicalities/FAQ:

Arrive between 6:00-7:00PM to get the best seats (not all directly face the stage) for you to enjoy our African/Caribbean food menu and unique cocktail bar. Artists are supported through the ticket sales. Labyrinth Poetry night begins at 7:30PM till 09:30 PM including a break.

Drinks and food can be ordered throughout the night. Our kitchen closes around 21:00. The evening will be hosted in English. Performances might be in English, Dutch and/or other languages.
