Heal, Grow Unite Poetry Event

With all that is going on in the world we invite you to collectively raise our voices through spoken word, storytelling and art.: Sunday 13 July on the theme  ‘OUR COLONIAL HERITAGE’. 

Akua Appah welcomes you for an evening aiming to encourage, inspire and empower. Believing that healing, educational growth and unity follows when we speak up, refusing to be a silent generation in times of injustice. Lets heal, grow and unite as we speak up for those who cannot 

Bless us with your presence or take the stage and leave us rethinking the impact we can make through our lives.

Open MIC: For the artists that want to be part of the line up, in line with the theme, register yourself for the #openmic with Appah at 7pm. There are a few spots available. First come first serve, and you have max 5 minutes to perform.

Akua Appah @appah.nl is the curator of Heal , Grow Unite. She is a multidisciplinary artist that is on a journey of re-educating herself on the topic ‘Our Colonial Heritage.’ She invites you to join her journey and look into the mirror. As mentioned in the song Man in the Mirror; “If we want to make the world a better place, we need to take a look into the mirror and make that change”. 

Practicalities: (If it is your first time at Labyrinth) First come, will receive tables close to the stage, as some tables don’t look directly out to the stage. Delicious drinks and African Caribbean Soul food can be ordered at your own cost through out the night, but note that Labyrinth’s kitchen closes around 09:00 pm. 

There are only volunteers involved in making this special event Any profit will enable the organizers to continue evenings like this.
